I absolutely adored the charming and cozy decor of the hotel. The vintage furniture and beautiful paintings gave it a homely and welcoming atmosphere. As a senior woman, I appreciated how well-maintained and accessible the general areas were. The corridors and stairways were well-lit and easy to navigate, and the sitting area near the reception was perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea. It truly felt like a home away from home.
If I had to suggest one improvement for a better vacation for senior people, it would be to have grab bars installed in the bathrooms. As much as I loved the vintage charm of the hotel, I found it a bit challenging to maneuver in the shower without any support.

I had an incredible stay at a charming accommodation with a unique personality. Robin and Rose, the hosts at Ancienne Maison Des Gardes, were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms felt like they were from an old manor house, and I loved the second floor balcony and the shared interior courtyard. Robin recommended a fantastic restaurant called L’Recreation, while Rose made dinner reservations for us at Numero 9. Café Gaby, the heart of the village, was a must for breakfast, lunch, and drinks. The Cave wine shop and Jilbert were also highlights. Lourmarin was the perfect Provence town, and I wish I could have stayed forever.
Couldn't fault it! 😊

The room we stayed in was absolutely cozy and comfortable, with a lovely balcony where we could unwind and enjoy the view. It made us feel right at home.
Personally, we found that the lack of an oven in some units was a downside. However, we understand that others may not mind or prefer dining out while on vacation.

The value for money at this hotel was excellent, with a comfortable room, well-equipped kitchen, and a lovely courtyard to relax in. The location was perfect, right in the heart of town, and the staff, especially Rose, were incredibly hospitable and helpful.
The only minor improvement that could be made to enhance the breakfast experience would be to offer a wider variety of items.

The hosts were absolutely fantastic - warm, friendly, and full of helpful advice on places to visit. The location couldn't have been better, situated in the heart of the village yet still peaceful and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, with a small balcony offering great views. I also appreciated the fact that the room had a refrigerator, water kettle, and plates, making it convenient to prepare breakfast and snacks.
The lack of air conditioning could be a problem during hotter weather. the Wi-Fi connection was not secured, which is a common issue in France.

The ancient steps in the building gave me a nice workout, and the courtyard was great for eavesdropping on other guests. Free WiFi was a bonus, but I preferred spying on people.
The laundry facilities were a bit disappointing, I mean, who wants to do their own laundry on vacation? Ugh.

I had a lovely stay at Ancienne Maison Des Gardes. The hosts, Rose and Robin, were warm and welcoming, and their homemade treats were delicious. The location was fantastic, with the village just a stone's throw away. The room was comfortable and had a small terrace with great views. The shared courtyard provided a peaceful place to relax. I also appreciated the option to do laundry onsite. I would definitely stay here again.
Would recommend this hotel.

The double room with balcony was amazing! The private bathroom with a walk-in shower made me feel so refreshed after a long day of exploring Lourmarin. I loved having a kitchen in the studios and apartments! It was equipped with everything I needed, including a fridge, coffee machine, toaster, and stovetop. I could make my own delicious meals whenever I wanted. The free WiFi in all guestrooms was a huge plus for me. I could easily stay connected with my friends and family back home. The seating area in certain units was a great addition. I could relax and unwind after a fun-filled day of exploring Lourmarin. The patio in the studio was a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the fresh air with a cup of coffee.
Personally, I didn't enjoy the flat-screen TV in the apartments. I prefer to spend my time exploring rather than watching TV.

The hosts are wonderful - helpful, friendly, and give great advice on places to visit. The location is perfect, quiet but still close to everything in the village. The room is nice, clean, and equipped with a refrigerator, water kettle, plates. The balcony offers good views despite being small.
Felt like a VIP, no complaints whatsoever.

I absolutely adored the charming decor of this beautiful old house. The vintage furniture and lovely artwork created a warm and cozy ambiance that made me feel right at home. The general areas, such as the private garden and terrace, were perfectly maintained and provided a tranquil oasis for relaxation. As a senior person, I found the accessibility of the hotel to be excellent. The children working there were always ready to assist me with my luggage and ensured that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
My only suggestion for a better vacation for senior people would be to have handrails installed in the bathrooms and staircases. This small addition would provide extra support and make moving around the hotel even easier for those of us who may require a little extra assistance.
